EGVIAfor2Zero internal brokerage event & General Assembly in Munich

Members of EGVIAfor2Zero gathered in Munich last week for a two-day event.

The gathering started with an internal brokerage event on the 2026 2Zero topics; our co-leaders of pillar 1 (vehicle technologies) and pillar 3 (innovative concepts, solutions and services) each presented a topic and moderated a follow-up discussion with more than 80 members.

This event provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas and to connect with one another.

More networking opportunities were offered in the afternoon, aside from a sightseeing tour and a visit to the BMW museum, and ended with an enjoyable networking dinner, celebrating an important milestone: the 10 years of chairmanship of Stephan Neugebauer!

On the following day, the association’s General Assembly welcomed three new members, all of them belonging to the “automotive suppliers” members category:

The driving team of pillar 1, leading discussion on “Vehicle technologies and vehicle propulsion solutions for BEV and FCEV”, welcomed a new co-leader: Gordon Witham, from ika-RWTH, replacing Damian Backes, who left the institute for new professional opportunities.

The meeting continued with important internal discussions on ongoing policy development and administrative matters.

The afternoon kicked off with a very important discussion: the recent signing of an MoU between the European Commission and EGVIAfor2Zero and its sister partnerships, CCAM and Batt4EU. We are now in full swing to deliver on the four main outcomes expected, as per the document:

  • A joint EU vision (December 2025)
  • An overview of the international R&I context in the automotive sector (December 2025)
  • A joint SRIA (June 2026)
  • An overview of the existing R&I programmes and initiatives at EU, national and regional levels (June 2026)

The afternoon continued with Benedetta Trignani who presented the results of our #WeDrive2Zero campaign, published throughout the summer.

Lucie Beaumel followed up on the Collaboration Working Arrangement (CWA) with Piemonte. This CWA was a success, and more regions have been contacting the European Commission to launch new cooperations with their regions; discussions are already well advanced with the Aragon region (ES).

Simon Edwards presented the latest advancements and findings from the LeMesurier project and promoted the upcoming webinar, “Accounting the KPIs of 2Zero”?

The 2Zero partnership also generated three clusters, gathering 2Zero (and more!) funded projects across three main areas:

  • The V2X Cluster dealing with charging related aspects
  • The E-Volve Cluster, gathering project on electric vehicle efficiency
  • The AEVETO Cluster, tackling EVs for Efficient and Economic Transport Operations

To close the meeting, the members were reminded about the opening of registrations to the RTR Conference and the key milestones to prepare for TRA 2026 in Budapest.
