EFFEREST, MINDED, and SmartCorners joint paper on user-centric Electric Vehicle design
The 2Zero research projects EFFEREST, MINDED, and SmartCorners have co-authored a scientific paper titled “European Initiatives for User-Centric Design of Electric Vehicles”, now available online.
This joint publication highlights how cutting-edge European R&D is shaping the future of electric mobility by placing user needs at the center of vehicle development. The paper showcases how the three projects are addressing key challenges in energy efficiency, comfort, safety, system modularity, and thermal management, contributing directly to the goals of the 2Zero Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
EFFEREST explores energy-efficient and cost-effective EV concepts by analysing real-world fleet data and adapting system behaviour to user profiles, while MINDED focuses on extending the range and thermal comfort of electric minibuses through advanced energy and thermal management systems. In addition, SmartCorners introduces flexible and scalable smart corner systems using in-wheel powertrains, laying the groundwork for the software-defined vehicle of the future.
By integrating technological innovation with human-centric design, these projects are driving the development of electric vehicles that are not only cleaner and smarter, but also better aligned with user expectations and real-world usage.
