EGVIAfor2Zero in full gear for TRA 2026

With TRA 2026 just around the corner, EGVIAfor2Zero is gearing up for an active presence across all four days.
We will be joining forces, this year again, with our trusted partners ERTRAC and the CCAM association: stop by stand (A29) to exchange with us!
To make the most of your visit, explore the TRA programme and find out plenary, special and strategic sessions where EGVIAfor2Zero members will share fresh perspectives, exchange on upcoming R&I challenges and tackle the future of road transport electrification.
Among the key topics to be discussed, you will find:
- Governance of research and innovation: from research to deployment
- Future skills and workforce for a green, digital, and competitive transport sector
- Competitiveness of the EU industry for the green transition
- Accelerating the deployment of recharging infrastructure for electric vehicles
- Resilience of transport systems
- Accelerating the circular transformation of transport industries in the EU
- The role of Artificial Intelligence for smart mobility systems
EGVIAfor2Zero will organise, on 18th May at 17.30, a special session entitled “Made-in-Europe efficient, affordable and attractive Electric Vehicles: innovation priorities towards technology sovereignty and competitiveness of the EU automotive industry”. Advancing the next generation of EVs, including batteries, critical components, and software, is essential for Europe’s competitiveness. The session will detail how continued research and innovation activities can help to deliver efficient and affordable vehicles, from L-category to heavy-duty, and explore how we can build on progress from EU-funded projects such as the European Green Vehicles Initiative (EGVI) and the 2Zero Partnership. The establishment of new value chains, to maintain value added in Europe and facilitate the implementation of circular economy principles in the automotive industry will also play an instrumental role in the years to come. The session will present the outcomes of key EU-funded projects in the field and discuss with the audience which are the next Research and Innovation priorities.
Our partner ERTRAC will organise two other invited sessions of high interest for the 2Zero community:
- on the 19th May at 14.00, “Assessing the impacts and discussing the future of the 2Zero and CCAM Partnerships: accelerate the Electrification and Automation of road mobility” to exchange on how to further coordinate the European R&D efforts of the existing 2Zero, CCAM and Batteries for Europe partnerships. The objective is to accelerate the transition of road mobility to electrification and automation by further exploiting research results for implementation.
- on 20th May at 14.00, “Safe and sustainable road transport with Digitalisation, AI and Software Defined Vehicles (SDV)” to discuss how the integration of digital technologies is reshaping the automotive industry and mobility sector through many applications in services, planning, automated driving, and sustainability, as well as overarching, major developments towards Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
The TRA conference will be more than its Plenary, strategic and invited sessions. A number of additional activities will be organised, including the presentation of a book series by Helmut List, CEO of AVL List GmbH, at our booth.

This book series currently includes 13 volumes, covering battery technologies for electromobility, automated mobility and CCAM, hydrogen and fuel cells and automotive E/E architecture for Software-Defined Vehicles. The event offers an opportunity to meet Helmut List and Josef Affenzeller, former EGVIAfor2Zero Secretary General and coordinator of the book series.
- What: book series “Sustainable Mobility & Energy”, Publishing editor Springer Nature
- When: Tuesday 19th May 2026 from 12:15 to 12:45 (lunch break)
- Where: exhibition stand #A29 ERTRAC/2Zero/CCAM
Just next to our joint booth, the EC will host booth from three 2Zero funded projects: MACBETH, FLEXMCS and metaCCAZE.
In addition, you will have the chance to join lunchtime sessions at the EC booth:
- Monday 18th May – 12:30 to 13:30: Latest developments in EU Transport Policy – an overview
This lunchtime session will provide a concise tour of key EU transport policy priorities and their implications for transport research and innovation. It will cover the delivery of transport decarbonisation and system readiness; the strengthening of the Single Market through implementation of the TEN-T Regulation Recast 2024 (including new European Transport Corridors and urban nodes) and developments in transport digitalisation - Thursday 21st May – 12:30-13:30: User-Centred Mobility Systems
This session will look into transport systems design that prioritises user needs through the integration of public transport with New Mobility Services. Featured projects, including MetaCCAZE, GEMINI, UPPER, and SPINE, will present their findings on economically viable solutions that leverage the synergies of electrification, automation, and interoperability in urban environments.
