A correction to the topic HORIZON-CL5-2022-D5-01-09 is now available
The European Commission published an important clarification to the 2Zero topic “Nextgen EV components: High efficiency and low-cost electric motors for circularity and low use of rare resources” (HORIZON-CL5-2022-D5-01-09). The acronym CRM included in the topic text has been wrongly expanded as “Composite Reinforced Materials”. The correct term is “Critical Raw Materials”, which are appropriate in the context of the topic.
Therefore, the scope should read:
- The use of alternative architectures and materials to the currently used rare earths-based magnets and configurations. Recyclability plus life-cycle environmental impact aspects need to be considered, aiming at the best compromise with other performance parameters to reach the stated outcomes. If critical raw materials (CRM) are included in the design, the development of processes for the economic recycling of at least 60% of any rare materials needs to be included: only this additional work will justify the use of up to EUR 2 million of the expected EU contribution.
The correction is now available on the funding portal and in the FAQ too.
The broadcast of the Destination 5 info day held on 3rd February is now available: all clarifications have been provided during the presentation and the Q&A session.
