2Zero joined the last meeting of the IEA group on “Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology Collaboration Programme (HEV TCP)”

On 19th April, the 2Zero partnership joined the Knowledge Sharing Workshop of the International Energy Agency “Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology Collaboration Programme (HEV TCP)”.

The whole day meeting started with a visit to Toyota Motor Europe in Zaventem, where a tour visit was organised. The delegates from the IEA, the European Commission and the 2Zero partnership had the opportunity to discover:

  • Fuel Cell Module assembly & Testing
  • Engine & Electric motor test facilities
  • Emission & EMC testing
  • Research lab Fuel Cell & battery technology

The visit ended with a presentation of Toyota perspectives on the transition faced by the automotive industry and the importance of a multi-technology approach.

The afternoon was dedicated to the knowledge-sharing workshop itself.

2Zero and Batt4EU partnerships presented their objectives, priorities, and latest advancements with the group and the Delegates provided the group with updates from national activities.

Good discussions have been held on the possible next steps and future exchange of information, notably on the future energy needs in road transport, in the context of a massive electrification of the fleet – including Heavy-Duty Vehicles.
