EU Framework Programme for R&I – Innovation Fund Synergies

On 8 February 2023 from 9:30 to 13:15 (Brussels Time), the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), the European Commission’s DG Climate Action and Research and Innovation are organising a virtual Workshop on Innovation Fund synergies.

The workshop is open to participants of mature projects that have benefited from EU R&I funding programmes that are in technological domains covered by the Innovation Fund:

• decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries
• carbon capture utilisation & storage (CCUS)
• renewable energy generation
• energy storage and hydrogen.

The aim of the workshop is to support the exploitation of R&I results from EU-funded programmes (namely Horizon 2020) towards market uptake via the Innovation Fund by informing workshop participants about the funding possibilities offered by the Innovation Fund, as well as giving them the opportunity to present their projects to other workshop participants.

The Innovation Fund is one of the world’s largest funding programmes to support the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies that will provide EUR 38 billion from the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) over a ten-year timeframe.
