EGVIA workshop on project results – Heavy Duty trucks

EGVIA held its 1st workshop on European project contributions to CO2 reduction in Heavy Duty Trucks in Brussels.
Three different sessions presented the results of EU funded projects on Heavy-Duty Trucks:
Impacts of alternative fuels on CO2 reduction
- DESTA – European Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Auxiliary Power Unit (Jürgen Rechberger, AVL)
- LNG BLUE CORRIDORS – Demonstration of heavy duty vehicles running with liquefied methane (Xavier Ribas, Idiada)
- HD GAS – Heavy Duty Gas Engines integrated into Vehicles (Johann Weinzierl, MAN)

Energy management and recovery
- NOWASTE – Engine Waste Heat Recovery and Re-Use (Vincent Lemort, Université of Liège)
- GASTONE – New powertrain concept based on the integration of energy recovery, storage and re-use system with engine system and control strategies (Alex Rinaldi, IVECO)
- Ecodriver – Supporting the driver in conserving energy and reducing emissions (Roland Trauter, Daimler)
