New faces @ EGVIAfor2Zero
EGVIAfor2Zero held its latest General Assembly meeting (GA) on 20th April 2023, wherein four new members joined the association, namely Tubitak (Research Center), Sabanci University, and CIAC and AC Styria as new associate members.
This brings the total membership count to 115, consisting of 16 OEMs, 26 automotive suppliers, 3 representatives from the smart system industry, 2 representatives from the smart grid industry, 1 representative from the logistics industry and freight transport users, 24 research organizations, 25 universities, and 18 associate members.
During the meeting, Mr. Horst Pfluegl from AVL List was elected Secretary General of EGVIAfor2Zero, succeeding Mr. Josef Affenzeller who decided to step down after being involved since the very beginning of the Green Cars Initiative. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Josef Affenzeller for his valuable contributions and unwavering support to the EU-collaborative research in the area of road transport, and its implementation through partnerships.
Furthermore, the Delegation to the Partnership Board has been renewed. The delegation’s key responsibilities include discussing recommendations on call topics with the European Commission during Partnership Board meetings, contributing to the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) review and follow-up exchanges with the European Commission, as well as participating in discussions on the 2Zero strategy and related activities.

The SRIA co-leaders were confirmed in their positions and are also becoming members of the Delegation to the Partnership Board.
The year 2023 is expected to be a busy one with the SRIA update and the preparation for the second phase of Horizon Europe: all contributions will be welcomed.
