Get Lunch with 2Zero – Pillar 3 outcome
The 1st “Get Lunch with 2 Zero” took place today (June 1st, 2021) in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It covered the topics of Pillar 3 – Innovative concepts, solutions and services for the zero-tailpipe emission mobility of people and goods.
Through the online session, the co-leaders Fernando Liesa (Alice) and Evangelos Bekiaris (CERTH) explained the key objectives of Pillar 3, its interconnection with the other 2Zero Pillars and how it will address:
- The importance of usage models and use cases in the definition of new technological solutions and usage models needed to speed up the adoption, roll-out and upscale of the zero tailpipe emission vehicles
- The need to test a large number of solutions to help to make the right decisions for the future of road transport.
- The need to understand the use cases and users’ needs to define the requirements of future recharging infrastructure.
As Fernando Liesa puts it, road transport is facing a paradigm shift never seen before, with multiple implications, including an increased cost of transport: the 2Zero partnership will be the core instrument for addressing the problems faced by transport of people and goods, and define new solutions. To be successful, we will need all stakeholders on board the partnership.
